Defaced presidents – Making one dollar bills more interesting

In one of our previous articles you can see strange but funny one dollar bills with popular faces painted instead of president George Washington’s face. Now a new unknown artist called ranafrg4224 from flickr is also painting on one dollar bills, but now the whole bill is painted like illustrations representing different settings with the president’s face.On one of the bills he is a cook, on the other one he is a part of Alice in Wonderland, and on a third he is Pharaoh, and the list of creative illustrations, settings and faces just goes on.

This is great work, but waste of money.
No i dont think it’s a waiste, because it’s a great art. For some people it’s a waiste and that’s sad, but, this is good art!

Defacing money like that is technically a felony.

Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

not illegal idiots, the law says if they are “with intent to render such bank bill”, if they aren’t going to spend it, which they cant because of the drawing, its not illegal.
It says “With intent to render this bank bill … unfit to be reissued.”
It is technically illegal to draw on bills. However, it doesn’t matter in this case, since all of these were shopped.
