At first glance it looks like they’re putting real guns in their mouths, but in real life they are eating edible ice guns.
They all have different kinds of flavors–cola, cherry, licorice and black currant. They are an addition to the first 50 tinted ice guns that Florian Jenett and Valentin Beinroth made and placed in downtown Frankfurt a few years ago.
These edible eatables where exhibited at an art show called “Freeze Revisited”, and their existence certainly shocked a lot of people.
Several other artists have used weapons as their inspiration, like these fashionable guns and rifles made for artistic purposes.

Those are neat, but I can’t help but wonder what they taste like! Things that colour don’t usually taste very good, at least not if they are frozen treats.

Ok, when I was a kid I knew the difference between make believe and real life. I knew a fake gun from a real one. I don’t think there are any kids that will believe that a real gun is made of ice cream because of this, that is ridiculous.
Think back to your childhood, were you so naive as to be convinced that guns are made of ice cream? If there is a kid out there that believes this then the parents should be held accountable for neglect.
Gosh people are such babies. If your kid is stupid enough to think a real gun is ice cream you should have never had a kid to begin with since you obviously can’t tell them what’s right.
It looks to me to be a once time thing, for a cause, and for fun. It’s not like they’re packing these things in grocery stores and shipping them out.
I think they’re neat and a nice little laugh for the comically inclined.

It is an awesome piece of art, yet I think it’s not appropriate. I have to admit, at first glance it was awesome, but seeing pple hold it up to other’s heads, is sad. It’s kinda sick…but it’s awesome and I want one lol

This is stupid! This is the kind of thing that makes people vote for tighter gun controls! Weapons are tools of war and defense not cute hipster “art” deserts. The people responsible for this shouldn’t be allowed to have avant garde events. Art and artists have a responsibility to the public to ensure that their creations and performances do not harm the general welfare of the populous.

They are popsicles. It’s intended to be a piece of art, not a consumer product. It’s just so that when you look at it at first you’re like “oh my god!” but then you’re like “oh cool!”
ART! It is defined as something that brings feelings and emotions to an individual. Everyone has different feelings toward it.
If you looked at this and were like “Oh my! that’s terrible” the artist succeeded.

Very black humor, I love it! Though, if I were given one to eat I’d want to “fire” it at the floor or something first just to check. It’s art for those criticizing it. It is supposed to be offensive and terrible that is the point, for those not artistically inclined let me explain it to you.
Placing a gun in ones mouth or wielding a gun in general has many negative connotations in our society, even more so if a children does it. However everyone loves Ice Cream, its sweet and delicious.
Thus the artist is making a social commentary. He is tells us that we like guns as much as we like Ice Cream. Our society loves the taste of violence. It is an effective and powerful; social criticism. this type of art, unlike the Abstract BS some Americans enjoy is moralistic and allegorical at least more so then some art forms. If anything this work should be praised for the effect it has on us, it scares us, as violence should, even though we enjoy violence.

I could care less about the issue of whether people are smart enough to differentiate between the popsicle and a real gun. However, this is extremely cruel and disrespectful to people who have committed suicide and their families and friends…

My children are young. They haven’t learned to read or write yet. Even their drawings are hard to understand. They do know what a gun is, though. I showed them these pictures, and they got upset that these people were going to hurt themselves. This was not their first time seeing guns, as they are a huge part of our society. It also won’t be the last time they see a gun, either. As a matter of fact, these images probably have no effect on my children whatsoever. Nothing worse than video games and films will show them over the coming years. It’s funny to think that we’ve had guns for hundred of years, but only when they’re not real are they dangerous to our children. Lock your weapons. Guard your ammo. Don’t let your kids have either. Let them enjoy some ice cream, though, what kind of prick are you?
I don’t think this is stupid and disgusting because children will then shoot themselves with a real gun. I think it’s horrible because it is basically making fun of suicide. “Hey look! It’s cool to look like you’re going to commit suicide as long as you don’t actually do it!” Anyone who can play games with something like that clearly doesn’t understand how much this can affect someone who may be suffering from depression or anything else that may lead them to suicide. Parents should be stopping children from seeing ‘inappropriate’ things but this is simply insensitive to those who have committed suicide and their families.
