You will be amazed to know that these pictures are actually paintings. They are the works of several hyper-realist painters like Roberto Bernardi, Eric Christensen and Steve Mills.

They all started painting when young and after many years of practice they reached a high level of realistic painting. Looking at the paintings, especially the ones with soda cans or candy bars, you will maybe have a hard time believing that it is painted and not photographed.

Realistic painting is to be found as street art as well, represented by these amazing 3D paintings.

Jeff Nishinaka’s work with paper has a high level of elegance. His 3D paper sculptures look like they’re are made out of foam or fine white cream, giving it all a very delicate look.

The motives are anything from buildings to animals and nature. He also uses the play of light and shadows to make it look more alive.

Another art work that reminds of this one is the work of Allen and Patty Eckman that make fine and detailed sculptures out of acid free cast paper.

These nature-inspired installations are part of the project called “Art of the Sky” led by environmental artist and photographer Daniel Dancer. The art creations are only making sense when seen from the sky, and they are simply made by using people and latex paint.

Sometimes he is using up to 4000 people for his works, and each one of them knows where to stand on their knees and hands with their backs exposed so that the colored t-shirts can show best. Dancer only takes one shot when he is up in the air, because first he wants it to be spontaneous, and second rehearsals doesn’t make any sense to him.

He became fascinated by sky art while traveling across South Africa and discovering the “Nazca Lines” of Peru.

Some similar sky art has been done in Japan as well by rice farmers that use their fields to express their work of art.

For the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, Plakker prepared for you an incredible initiative that unites the best of art and football. The first virtual “stickers” album! 67 “Stickers” made by 33 artists from 10 countries.

The album is divided in three sessions:  Brazil, with 25 Stars from our team. Teams, with 31 highlights from international teams, and finally, Gold, with 10 players that have marked the history of football.
