“Mystery Science Theater 3000” codified what people had been doing for years: vastly improving bad movies by making fun of them. It somehow stayed on the air for eleven years and defined a decade of popular culture, mostly by bringing bad movies back to painful, hilarious life. MST, we salute you, by honoring your ten greatest moments.
Make no mistake: earthquakes are scary. Earthquakes are dangerous. And there have been a lot of them lately. In addition to the one felt all along the East Coast that struck Mineral, VA, on August 23rd, there was a second one in Colorado with a magnitude of 5.3, and a third one with a magnitude of 2.9 four days later in upstate New York.
Needless to say, this has a lot of people on the East Coast terrified, especially since Irene struck a week later, and aftershocks of the Mineral quake were being felt for a while after. But they shouldn’t be scared: here’s why.

The likes of George Clooney and Brad Pitt might make it look pretty easy to walk into a casino and escape with $150m, but penetrating the world’s most secure museums and banks to steal priceless gems is, on paper, almost impossible. Yet, they happen every few years and even if the culprits are eventually caught – the gems rarely are. So, how is it that there are so many successful attempts at stealing diamonds? The answer, many people think, is to have someone on the inside, as all but one of these heists illustrate.
The office social environment can be pretty tense at times. Whether it’s because they “forgot” to include you in that last round of coffee or forwarded the address of your personal blog to your boss (specifically the entry where you likened them to a fascist dictator and/or admitted to snogging their spouse at the last Christmas party), chances are there’s at least somebody in your workplace that you hold some kind of grudge against. They searched near and far, and what they uncovered amazed even them. So, cozy up on your favorite couch, open an ice cold bottle of Pepsi (we’re a Pepsi nation here at TBR), grab a bag of steaming, buttered popcorn, and take a gander at the links below.
