Overcoming The Nursing Crisis [Infographic]

The United States faces an unprecedented shortage of healthcare professionals. Registered Nurses are in high demand but the hole in our health care system is getting deeper.

Demand for registered nurses is at an all-time high, but the nursing workforce is aging and preparing to move into retirement. At the same time, fewer students are enrolling in nursing programs. For those students looking for the right career move, nursing could be the right way to go. One of the things that many have failed to realize is that nursing is a recession proof job. How so? Well, take for example, in the recent recession the healthcare industry stood alone adding more than 428,000 plus jobs over an 18 month period. It is projected that 581,500 more registered nurses will be required by 2018 which clearly shows there is a demand.

Twenty Terrible Dog Haircuts

It’s important to remember that not all dog “haircuts” are deliberate. For example, if you ever see a dog with dreadlocks…that’s probably a Komondor. It has that coat to protect it from wolves.

These, on the other hand, are deliberate. In fact, some of these are actually photos of the same poodle named Cindy. She’s the one with the thousand yard stare, pleading to God to end her suffering.

This Blog Rules Goes Around the Interwebz

A creepy morgue via Environmental Graffiti

For a new TBR (This Blog Rules) segment, the TBR staff hopped on a TBR-branded plane and traveled around the web in search of intriguing blog posts. A Huge Festering Pile of Unflattering Politician Photographs

The August 15, 2011 issue of Newsweek featured a picture of the shape-shifting T-1000 terminator impersonating Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann.

"Minnesota Nice" in a nutshell.

A behind-the-scenes reenactment of the photo shoot.

The mainstream librul meedya took Newsweek editor Tina Brown to task for the unflattering photo of Michele Bachmann, calling it sexist, anti-conservative, mean, poo poo caca. Bad Newsweek. Bad, bad Newsweek.

But it’s not like U.S. media outlets have never featured crappy politician pictures on their covers. Check out this New York Post cover about Charles Rangel, the U.S. Representative from New York:

And the mainstream librul meedya said, "THAT'S RACIST! IT DEPICTS AFRICAN-AMERICANS AS LAZY!" Just kidding, liberals are too chickenshit to play that card these days.

We at This Blog Rules feel that the Psycho Bachmann Newsweek cover is just a hilariously shitty picture of a political candidate. In fact, we think there should be more shitty photographs of politicians.

In the spirit of kicking these people while they’re up, we present to you, in alphabetical order by first name (just to prove our political neutrality) a wide range of unflattering photographs of United States politicians — and of course their family members, because they matter, for reasons unknown to political philosophers…
