The Miraculous Enlightenment of Mr. Kenny Riordon

September 27, 2012 By ThisBlogRules 1 Comment

In VirginMobile‘s new ad that is making the rounds on Youtube, Kenny Riordon is having a bad week. Hey, it happens to all of us. Who hasn’t walked in on their girlfriend filming a devil’s foursome for a porn site in YOUR apartment?

The fact that the adulterous wench maxed out his credit card to the point of him looking foolish at the coffee shop was just icing on the top of the crap cake. Kenny got mad, and decided to make some changes in his life financially, including kicking his mooch friend off his couch.

He also switched cell phone companies, picking up Virgin Mobile. After hooking up with the barista at aforementioned coffee shop, his new phone told him about this crunk party in the middle of town that they were totally going to.

Once inside, things got really crazy. Among the highlights were a firebreather accidently setting his head on fire (go figure), Kenny ninja-kicking a would-be-mugger, and of course, some filthy something-something, if you know what I mean.

When he awakes, his new love is gone, but that does not deter him from going after her. Now if he can only remember her name…

Kenny’s moment of enlightenment came when he realized how much cash he could save by switching to Virgin Mobile, which offers affordable plans with unlimited data and messaging on iphone and android devices. Have you had any moments of enlightenment like Kenny? Think deeply about the answer to this question, and share you experiences in the comments below.

Top Five Most Terrifying Humanoid Robots

May 18, 2012 By Vernon Gadson Leave a Comment

I consider myself somewhat of a robot fan, and there are few automatons you could show me that I wouldn’t think are pretty damn cool in some capacity or another. However, there are some robots out there that, no matter how awesome you usually think robots are, are absolutely, seat-wettingly scary. The vast majority of these tend to be humanoid, skirting the phenomenon of the Uncanny Valley with varying degrees of unsettling success. No matter much closer they might bring us to having a completely realistic human robot, there’s simply no excuse for taking some of these android abominations out in public. [Read more…]

Top Five Most Awesome Real Robots

July 14, 2011 By ThisBlogRules 1 Comment

Science fiction has given us a load of awesome robots: Optimus Prime, R2D2, the Terminator. Unfortunately, all of these are – for now, at least – fictional. Today, however, the science fiction author’s eternal dream of highly sophisticated robots becoming commonplace is fast getting closer to fact than fiction. How long will it be until seeing a robot walking down the street won’t be worth a second glance? According to the work of the makers of some of the mechanical marvels below, not very long at all… [Read more…]

Top Ten Movie Robots

July 4, 2011 By ThisBlogRules 8 Comments

To coincide with the release of the third installment of Michael Bay’s robots-hitting-each-other franchise, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” I have compiled a list of the best robotic characters ever to clink and clang on the silver screen. Some we care for, some we love, some we wish would glitch and malfunction, and some we enjoy watching bash each other to scraps, but the electrically-charged hunks of metal listed below have all developed into iconic pieces of moviedom over the years. Without further ado, here are my top ten robots from the world of cinema. Oh, and no, I’m not going to include Johnny fucking Five in this list; Christ, that pile of scraps is annoying. [Read more…]

8 Creepy Humanoids We Hope the Japanese Will Continue to Develop

Nobody does humanoids quite like Japan. The Japanese diaspora have come a long way in their quest to replace authentic human companionship with synthetic human companionship. Why, it seems like only 2004 (it was) that the Boyfriend’s Arm and Lap Pillow were introduced to an easily mollified public…

Pro Tip: The longer you stare at it, the more perfectly normal it looks.

We cannot help but stand up and admire the Japanese. They dove into the deep end of humanoid development without so much as a “Hey, wait, is this weird?”

And let’s face it. People smell. They secrete from unexpected places. They have mysterious markings that you didn’t put there yourself. And when you go to abruptly fondle their breasts, they start bitching and complaining and blowing it all out of proportion with shit like “You’re invading my personal space” and “I do not like it when you touch my breasts”.

At least with androids you can always count on them to just mindlessly go along with whatever depraved whims enter your meaty little brain, right? Not necessarily…
