Best of the Horror Movie Killers

May 31, 2013 By This Blog Rules Guest Leave a Comment

In the world of Horror, you will probably be faced with tripping and falling, screaming, hiding and getting caught, seeing a mouse, being chased by a mutated figure that won’t talk even though you are asking them why they are doing this, meeting friends at a secluded part of the woods at a cabin owned by one of the groups parents who are out of town, and finally, certain death.

Horror movie killers have many different backgrounds. From supernatural beings to just a regular human being who wants revenge on those who he considers wronged him. These killers also have distinct personalities from the other. One may be a stalking mute (Jason Vorhees), while the other may be an outgoing playboy (American Psycho). One thing is for sure, the killing style and body count are what draws people in to their world. No one will invest their time into a killer who doesn’t want to kill. The more brutal death scene the better. Blood is what the spectator wants and with this list of killers, they will surely get what they want.

May 25, 2013 By This Blog Rules Guest Leave a Comment

Elm Street was a quiet little space nestled in the heart of Springfield, until Fred Krueger showed up. Krueger was a known child molester and killer who turned the town into a legend. The parents of the slain children gathered to destroy Krueger. The tortured and set him on fire, killing him in the process, but he returned. Not from the dead, he returned in the dreams of the kids in the town. He haunts and teases them, always controlling what they do as long as they are asleep. The kids in the neighborhood try to keep one another awake, whether it be coffee, staying with one another, or more sadistic was such as cutting themselves, their goal is to stay awake as much as possible. Freddy will get them in their sleep. His unique ways of murder is inventive yet effective. We are delving into the series and the most creative ways Freddy disposes of the teens living on Elm Street.

This is part two of two of “Sweet Dreams: Best of Nightmare on Elm Street”. The final five of the anthology featured Alice Cooper, Rosanne Barr, Iggy Pop, Kelly Leak from “The Bad News Bears” and kids being killed in video games. Only in the horror genre is this acceptable…or maybe professional wrestling.

Halloween: Murders of Michael Myers

May 19, 2013 By This Blog Rules Guest Leave a Comment

The most spooky time of the year is Halloween. With witches, ghosts, and goblins, Halloween gives you the opportunity to be what you cannot be any other time of the year. Young Michael Myers chose to become a killer. Starting with his sister when he was six, Myers blazed a trail of death and destruction for over twenty years. The chilling and calculating way that he destroys the people in Haddington, Illinois shows he is what Dr. Sam Loomis calls “Pure Evil”. Michael escapes from a mental home to continue his murders after brutally stabbing his sister to death years before. Hiding in the shadows of the cold October days and nights, Michael makes sure no one is safe. With his death count at well over fifty, the ways he killed were endless. Here are some of his all time smash hits.

Killings, Killings, Killings: Best Murders of Friday The 13th

May 13, 2013 By This Blog Rules Guest Leave a Comment

Horror movies have been around for almost one hundred years. The “modern” horror movie really started with “Nosferatu” in 1919. Nosferatu is a silent film about a lurking vampire that stalks his enemies. He has a misshapen head and razor sharp teeth. During the years following, the horror movie genre went from the creepy (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy) to the brutal (Friday The 13th, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and A Nightmare on Elm Street). Friday The 13th was known as the body count movie. So much so that Fangoria Magazine had a centerfold that featured each death from the first to that current movie in the series. Jason Vorhees, the killer in most of the movies (except his mother and the ambulance driver) in the Friday The 13th series, was a killing machine that felt no remorse. Each subsequent movie featured more brutal killings than the last. We are featuring some of the best killing scenes in the Friday The 13th movie series.

Werewolf vs. Vampire: Which is the Better Cinematic Sub-Genre?

November 21, 2011 By Vernon Gadson 1 Comment

The idea of vampires battling it out with werewolves seems an awesome one; they’re both terrifying, albeit fictional, creatures of the night, and I’m sure the brawl would be a viciously entertaining one. However, the idea also brings to mind the “Twilight” saga, a teenage-targeted fantasy film series in which glittering vamps and oversized Chihuahuas regularly rip off their tops, speedily gallop towards one another and furiously prepare to get their bitch-slapping on — that is, when they’re not moaning about the complicated love triangles they frequently stumble into accidentally on purpose. As such, the idea of vampires battling werewolves becomes significantly less awesome and more, well, homoerotic. [Read more…]
