Want to know the truth about why celebrities have Twitter? 17-year-old Mexican artist “L0kii” explains it for us in this delightfully irreverent comic strip. Do you agree with the strip that celebrities only use twitter to expand their influence and increase their earning potential?

While it can certainly be argued that celebrities don’t always reply, and that they may never acknowledge you as a follower, I feel that the strip may be a little too raw. Twitter has plenty to offer outside of celebrity-stalking (such as ex-stalking and spam-bots).

These tiny robots, created by Jenn and Tony Bot, may look edible, but believe you me, they are not. I found that out the hard way.

Made of  glass beads, wire and polymer clay, the robots weigh in at about 2 ounces and stand 2.5 cm tall. This Blog Rules has picked some of its favorites and put them on display for you below the jump. You can spot Jack Sparrow, Miss Piggy, Batman, Spiderman, and other iconic characters in the bunch. If you buy these and have them delivered to you, I strongly recommend not biting into them, no matter how scrumptious they appear.

So, how do you think they turned out?

Ah, the mysterious street artist Trustocorp and his humorous street signs all over the U.S. I guess we’ve seen it before. But we just can’t help it; now this artist has invaded California and done some new and fun projects in Hollywood.  It’s worth another look.

The amusing traffic signs are still a part of his body of work, with both encouraging and sarcastic messages. An example on the first mentioned is “You look lovely today”, and the second is “Hope for America” with illustration of a fat man running. We actually don’t know if that one is encouraging or just plain mean. Check out the pictures to see all the signs of his (their?)  latest work. It is still such a shame that we don’t know who Trustocorp really is.

What will come next from this enigmatic artist(s)? Perhaps their art will suddenly start appearing on brochures across the nation.

If you’re like me, you’ve fantasized about making a giant, fat monkey out of flip flops several times in your life. Well, some students in Sao Paulo did just that.

Dutch artist Florentjin Hofman designed the structure, and the students involved in the project appropriately named it “Fat Monkey,” just in time for Pixelshow’s 2010 conference, which showcases art with a pixelated look. Students built the monkey’s body out of flip flops because the sandals are a long-standing trademark of Brazil.

If I saw this in person, I would feel the certain urge to jump on its belly. Would you?

On-lookers stop to gaze at the structure. Some approach the monkey and drop bananas and fruit juice in its mouth.

As you can see in this video, constructing the monkey was no easy task. The innovation is strong in this group. Keep an eye on these students. Their creativity knows no bounds.
