It was at Thailand’s Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo when something adorable yet bizarre occurred. At the resort, which is 25 miles south-east of Bangkok, a two-year-old chimpanzee was feeding a baby tiger, named Aorn, from a bottle of milk. The female chimp, named Do Do, looked like a real mother to the tiger cub nestling in her arms.

At one point it even looks like Do Do is testing out the milk to check that it’s OK for Aorn to drink it. (Then again, she could also just be acting on an impulse to drink milk, as chimpanzees are highly impulsive.) The crocodile farm where these two cuties are situated is the largest in Thailand, housing 80,000 crocodiles, as well as other species of animals such as monkeys, tigers, elephants, lions, horses and hippopotamuses.

But never has such love and care been found between two very different animal species at this zoo. Maybe the unlikely pair will grow up together and forever have this mother-child relationship shared between them. Hey, we can dream can’t we?

He is a tiger after all, and tigers tend to have problems getting along with other mammals for any length of time. This baby tiger might love his chimp mother to pieces right now, but he’ll eventually want to rip her into little pieces of juicy flesh. Hey, if you’re a tiger, you gotta eat, and the Brussels sprout growing on a stalk near your cage just isn’t gonna cut it.
