Most people have probably written in the sand several times, whether it was in the sandbox in kindergarden or on a beach during a summer vacation. But artist and surfer Jim Denevan has taken the sand writing to a whole new level. He uses a simple driftwood stick to create large-scale beach drawings that is mostly geometric circles and shapes.
Imagine having a rabbit or a slimy insect named after you, or even a dinosaur? Every year scientists discover new animal species, and they all need a new name. These are just some of the pictures of the famous people and the animal species named after them.

Different flags of countries being represented by their native foods. These creative and colorful meals shaped as different flags of countries is to be seen in the new Sydney International Food Festival in October, 2009. Every flag is representing the native food from that particular country, and it’s hard not to get hungry when looking at it.
