1. Comic Book Guy is Jeff Albertson

It’s been said that the writers of The Simpsons actually wanted to name this character on his first appearance. However, they used the name “Comic Book Guy” and wanted to decide on his name later on in the show. In the episode “Homer and Ned’s Hail Mary Pass” his name is revealed to be Jeff Albertson in a conversation Ned Flanders is having with him. The creator of the show wanted to name him Louis Lane but he wasn’t there when the writers of the show named him.

2. Tails is Miles Powers

Fans of the popular game series Sonic The Hedgehog are familiar with a character in the game known as Tails. The fox with two tails actually has a real name: Miles Powers, which is a pun that means “miles per hour”.

3. Woody is Woody Pride

If you are a fan of the Toy Story movies you know that Woody is Andy’s favorite toy. The toy sheriff, however, actually has a real name which was revealed by Toy Story 3’s director Lee Unkrich on Twitter. He said that Woody’s full name is Woody Pride.

4. Monopoly Mascot is Milburn Pennybags

Chances are you played a game of Monopoly at least once in your lifetime. As a matter of fact, chances are that you also own one. But have you ever wondered what the mascot of the game’s real name is? In 1988 there was a book called “The Monopoly Companion” which named all the characters that appear in the popular board game. It turns out that the mascot’s real name is Milburn Pennybags.

5. Scooby-Doo is Scoobert Doo

The program was premiered in 1969. So this makes the cartoon 46 years old. Zoinks! We’re all quite familiar with the characters in the cartoon called Daphne Blake, Fred Jones, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy and, of course, Scooby-Doo. But believe it or not, the talking Great Dane also has a full name. His name is Scoobert Doo.

And by the way, Shaggy’s real name is in fact Norville Rogers.

6. Winnie-the-Pooh is Edward Bear

Winnie-the-Pooh actually started life in a series of novels. The author named him after his son’s teddy bear. Christopher Robin is also the name of the author’s son.

It turns out that Edward Bear is Winnie-the-Pooh’s real name. The real Christopher Robin renamed his teddy bear to Winnie-the-Pooh.

7. Malcolm is Malcolm Wilkerson

The popular TV show Malcolm in the Middle first aired in 2000 on January 9th. Even though Malcolm is the protagonist of the TV show, the series revolves around a six-member family.

For the people who are wondering, his real name was actually revealed by the writers in the very first episode of the series. The name Wilkerson was in the Pilot episode written on Francis’ name tag. His entire name Malcolm Wilkerson also appears in another episode written on his exam paper.

8. Casper is Casper McFadden

Casper, the friendly ghost initially appeared in a story book in 1945. In 1949 the character was put into a TV show and later he also had a comic book series. However, none of these revealed the character’s full name.

We found out that the character’s full name is Casper McFadden in the 1995 movie Casper. It is also said in the movie that before his death, Casper was a 12 year old boy. He died of hypothermia after sledging and staying outside after his dad told him to come out of the cold.

9. Arnold is Arnold Phil Shortman

If you spent your childhood in the ‘90s chances are that Hey Arnold! was one of your favorite shows. The TV series came on air in 1996 and was about Arnold, a fourth-grader who lives with his grandparents in a large city. His last name was teased throughout the entire show but his full name has actually been mentioned in a couple of episodes and in a chat online between the fans and creator of the series. Arnold’s full name is Arnold Phil Shortman.

10. Barbie is Barbara Millicent Roberts

Chances are that you are aware of the popular doll brand Barbie. The doll was launched in 1959 and since then has been on every young girl’s wish list. Her full name was revealed in a series of novels published in the 1960’s. Barbie’s full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts.
