Although Game of Thrones Season 5 has been expected for quite some time now, there are only a couple of months left until the new season will be aired.
Due to this, we have gathered some cool stuff we learned about Game of Thrones season 5 from the released trailers.
Careful! This article contains spoilers from Game of Thrones season 4 so if you have not yet seen the previous season, you are not advised to continue reading this article until the end. Also on this not, if you are among the people who have not yet seen season 4, why haven’t you started/ finished yet?!
The popular HBO TV series was up until now filled with suspense, blood spilling, outrageous crimes and incest so we expect nothing less from the upcoming season.
Have I captured your attention? Perfect! Let’s begin.
1. Release date
Filming has already started last fall and Game of thrones season 5 is set to be released on the 12th of April, which means we have only 8 and a half (long) weeks to keep waiting. For those of you who have not yet started watching Game of Thrones or still have to finish watching the 4 seasons which have been released by now, you have 8 more weeks to start and finish them. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
2. Tyrion Lannister’s epic beard
The trailer for Game of Thrones season 5 has also showed as a glimpse about how our beloved characters will look like in the new season. Probably one of the most dramatic look changes features Tyrion Lannister who after a long boat ride inside a box manages to stand up with a brand new and epic beard. Given the fact that he killed two people in a matter of minutes before setting sail in his box home, the beard makes him look even more badass.
3. Sansa Stark is going to make some changes
Sansa is now supported by “Littlefinger”, Petyr Baelish who leads her into thinking revenge is the only way to succeed. Not much is known about how these changes will affect the kingdom she now has under her rule or the people who have murdered their family, but we sure as hell want to see her finally act on something.
4. Daenerys Targaryen looks like the most promising leader
More and more people who actually know about her existence are taking the side of the Mother Of Dragons and by the look on her face, she is going to destroy anyone who stands in her way to the Iron throne. We haven’t seen anything about the dragons in the trailer though, I wonder what they’ve been up to. Hopefully, Viserion and Rhaegal will be set loose and their brother, Drogon will eventually learn to listen to his Mother. I swear to God, if the dragons die, we will riot!
5. What is going to happen next?
There are several locations from where the action can be picked up in Game of Thrones season 5. Some of the most interesting locations left are the following:
Well, taken into consideration the fact that most of the players in Kings Landing have either been killed or sent away, there is not much left to talk about there, except probably the wedding between Margaery Tyrell and Tommen Baratheon.
The Vale, where Sansa and Littlefinger are planning the next move. Petyr, you have already killed her aunt, what else do you have in that devilish mind of yours?
The Wall where Sam and Jon along with what’s left from the Night’s Watch are still keeping an eye out for white walkers and the wildlings. You still know nothing, Jon Snow!
Meereen where Daenerys has locked up two of her dragons, Viserion and Rhaegal while Drogon is still free. Hopefully Drogon will keep his fire off innocent people and start focusing more on his mom’s enemies.
Braavos where Arya Stark has ended up while looking to decipher the Secrets of the Faceless Men. It is exactly as the name suggests, “The Faceless Men”, will there be any room for a girl?
Up North where Hodor, Bran and Meera are trying to figure out what Bran’s destiny is. Hodor!
