10 Best Longboard Brands

June 28, 2016 By Toby Isaacson Leave a Comment

There are plenty of shades of grey when talking about longboard manufacturing. Every product has its strong and weak points, but the ratio between those is what determines which are the best longboard brands. In the world of this activity growing in popularity, plenty of companies are lining up to provide to buyers the highest-quality longboards. And, trust us, it’s important that we get something as great as possible. So, whether you’re a newcomer or an old-time fan of longboarding, we’re here to provide a guide with the best longboard brands that you can pick from.

Best Longboard Brands

#1 Sector 9

Arguably one of the most known longboard brands worldwide, Sector 9 is known for how welcoming it is for newbies and how easily their products adapt to the level of the user. Their longboards are affordable, they’re stylish, and all of this stands as solid proof that there is a good reason why they’re the most commercialized longboard brand in the world.

#2 Famous Riviera

The recipe for success in any time of marketing environment is a good price – quality relationship, which is something that Famous Riviera abides by as well. They’re a company with a lot of tradition in the world of skating and, thus, they’ve amassed enough experience to be able to craft sturdy and professional longboards. No wonder they’re one of the best longboard brands.

#3 Quest

Those at Quest follow a principle that has turned over the years into a trademark for the brand. They don’t produce longboards solely for the money. This is proven by the fact that, rather than releasing model after model, they release new longboards once a while. This ensures that they’re packed with quality production, all coming for a great price.

#4 Atom

Atom dominated 2015 as not just one of the best longboard brands, but the best longboard brand. Their particularity is that they find a middle ground between their prices while also being able to provide longboards that can suit the skating style of anyone.

#5 Yocaher

A brand with history behind it, Yocaher has been around the industry for about four decades, building prestige behind their name. Their longboards can be a bit pricey, but this is wholly justifiable given the durability and flexibility of their longboards. They’re particularly suitable for carving all thanks to their capacity to be bended and maneuvered to anyone’s desire.

#6 EightBit

EightBit doesn’t really align with the best longboard brands presented so far, mostly because they’re not that famous. Moreover, they specialize in skateboards, rather, but they transfer this creativity into their longboards too, making the final products unique and elegant.

#7 Loaded Longboards

You may say that Loaded Longboards are the kings of luxury longboarding, not just because of the spicy prices, but because of the fact that they’re very confident in the quality of their products – enough to vouch for them. Their high-quality and resistant longboards come with a one year insurance and a collaborative customer support as a warranty for their dedication.

#8 Mindless Boards

To ensure that your longboarding experience is as appropriate as possible, Mindless Boards invested time and effort in a crafting system that, in time, resulted in a process that spawned very unique-looking longboards. The Voodoo boards are their trademark and they are the result of quality materials, advanced knowledge, and excellent technique.

#9 Gravity Longboards

The Gravity longboards are ideal for anyone who wishes to protect the environment while they’re out in the world having fun. The company uses V-LAM instead of bamboo for the creation of their longboards, which are embellished with water-proof ink that will keep the streets clean.

Gold Coast provides their customers classily designed longboards, crafted from special materials and a particular type of care for the wheels. The unique material used for the wheels allow for smooth rides and an immersive experience, ideal for first-timers and those seeking adventures alike.

How To Find A Hobby To Last You A Lifetime

May 14, 2016 By Ali Quinn Leave a Comment

How To Find A Hobby

Source

Do you dread the “what are your hobbies?” question? This happens for several reasons. On one hand, it’s likely that you don’t really know if you have any hobbies to begin with. What exactly classifies as a hobby? Can you say that browsing the Internet all day long and binge-watching House of Cards count as a hobby? And to give some answers before moving on, yes, it does. As long as it’s something that you fill your pastime with because it’s an activity you enjoy, it counts as a hobby.

On another hand, maybe the question poses such a difficulty because you’ve answered it so many times, given so many different hobbies in return, and you’re mildly scared that you’ll abandon this one too. It’s not necessarily a matter of fickleness or how consistent you are in your activities. Some people get easily bored, and hobbies are unfortunate enough not to be able to elude this vicious circle. You think you’ve found that one thing that you can wholly commit to and that you can work towards perfecting for years to come, but one day you’re just not interested anymore all of sudden.

Is there any way to avoid that? How to find a hobby that will be able to fill your time for the rest of your life? This is a very subjective process, and there are as many hobbies out there as there are possible outcomes to this experience.

Always Stick to Your Passions

How To Find A Hobby

Source

This might sound like an obvious step, but we mean it less in a “do what you like” kind of way and more in a “don’t try to be edgy or follow the flock” kind. When you ask other people about their hobbies and all you hear left and right are people repeating the same things, you might be tempted to think that they’re boring and, therefore, unworthy of becoming your hobby too.

Who cares? If you go around boasting about your newfound passion for celebrity broom collecting, it all ultimately means nothing if you don’t do it for yourself. Maybe camel hair trimming sounds like a more interesting thing, but if reading is what you really like doing, it’s only a matter of time until you ditch your edgy hobby for the “boring” one. Own your hobby, no matter how basic or – quite the opposite – bizarre and unheard of it is.

Leave Room for Improvement

How To Find A Hobby

Source

This speaks for itself. There is no fun in finality because nobody likes goodbyes. Remember how exciting building skills in The Sims is? Well, it’s not exciting per se, but we are all looking forward to seeing what achievement a new level unlocks. Once that gauge is filled, and the maximum skill level is reached, there is nothing left. Transmute this mentality into the real world.

Repetition leads to boredom. If your hobby doesn’t have any new corners left for you to explore, you’ll be stuck doing the same thing forever. This is why hobbies such as painting, reading, movie watching, or playing musical instruments are so popular and generally beloved. There is always something new to them, something more. You can learn new songs, watch new movies and TV shows, read new books, try a new painting. More than that, in the case of painting and music, you can reinvent yourself too. You can adopt a new artistic style or play on the piano rock songs instead.

Intertwine the Hobby with Your Job

How To Find A Hobby

Source

If you’ve taken up a hobby that contributes to the improvement of a certain set of skills which are useful in other areas, then the mere existence of this connection is going to solidify your dedication to the respective activity. Let’s say you like yoga. If you work in a stressful environment, you can ease your mind through yoga practice. In conclusion, your hobby is improving your life and is giving you a boost of performance at work, as well as in your personal life.

This can apply for a variety of things, even if they seem unrelated. If you are an engineer who kind of lacks brain-to-hand communication and multi-tasking, pick up a musical instrument, a hobby which was proven to help with this issue. This way, in no time, it will become a mandatory part of your life.

The Weird Hobbies You Won’t Believe

June 17, 2014 By This Blog Rules Guest Leave a Comment

We all need to find something to do in order to pass the spare hours in each day, don’t we? Some people have decided that one of the following weird hobbies is right for them.

Collecting Aeroplane Sick Bags

Weird Hobbies

I’m usually just happy to get to the end of the flight without having barfed into the sick bag, to be honest. I have never seriously considered taking the thing home as a memento. Other people do this. There’s even an online museum and travelling exhibitions dedicated to this weird hobby. If you like, you can also buy a poster featuring lots of different sick bags.

Extreme Ironing

Unbelievable Hobbies

Is extreme ironing a hobby, an art or a sport? I don’t really care but I am just a little worried that an extreme ironer might take offence with what I right, scale the walls of my house and smack me on the head with a Philips SteamGlide 5000. This activity is inexplicably popular all over the world and has led to a lot of international competitions. People have ironed clothes in canoes, while skiing and on top of mountains in their pursuit of whatever it is they hope to achieve by doing this.

Collecting Milk Bottles

Weird Hobbies

I don’t know about you but I get very worried when someone tells me that they collect weird stuff. It just isn’t natural to want to hoard thousands of examples of the same thing. Try telling that to Paul Luke, though. His calcium rich weird hobby involves collecting milk bottles. He has more than 10,000 of them, which is strangely impressive. Seemingly it is a fairly common hobby, at least among mentally unstable dairy product freaks with a lot of time on their hands and a big house.

Trainspotting

Unbelievable Hobbies

Oh dear! Did you have a feeling I would mention this dreaded subject? Trainspotting involves what you think it does and is duller than you can possibly imagine. The people who do this can spend huge chunks of their lives trying to see a certain elusive type of engine or carriage. Not only is it one of the weirdest hobbies around, it must also be one of the most boring and utterly pointless.

Making Sneaky TV Appearances

Weird Hobbies

Paul Yarrow is a man with a secret. He gets his kicks from appearing in the background on TV news shows or programmes. You’ve probably seen him at some point. So far he has appeared on the TV over 100 times.

Toy Travelling

Weird Hobbies

I have to let my head droop in shame now, as I confess that I once did this. I once took a little toy dog (he was called Benny if that helps set the scene for you) to Paris. Oh, how I laughed as I snapped pictures of him under the Eiffel Tower, wearing a beret and carrying a baguette. Actually, other people are even weirder than me. They go online to find a traveller who will take their toy away on a trip with them. Why?

Tape Art

Weird Hobbies

Do you remember music cassettes? Come on now, don’t lie. I used to love sitting in my room and listening to the songs on these antiquated pieces of crap. It was even better on the rare occasions when the magnetic tape didn’t come spewing out and get all tangled up in the cassette machine. Well, now these cassettes have spawned a weird hobby. People pull out the magnetic tape and make it into a lifelike image of the singer on the cassette.
